A journey of resilience

Tinashe and Panashe’s tale begins in a humble home in Zimbabwe, under the care of their single mother, Vongaishe. Determined to provide for her children, Vongaishe moved to South Africa in search of work, leaving her twins to navigate the complexities of life’s challenges from a tender age. These challenges, however, did not deter these resilient young people. Instead, the twins’ hardships became the fuel that ignited their aspirations—Tinashe has a knack for information processing and dreams of exploring the realms of computer science, while Panashe is drawn to a calling in social work.

The twins’ quest for excellence is reflected in their academic successes. Tinashe, a gifted soccer player, secured a scholarship through his athletic talent and academic diligence, showing just how committed he is to his dreams. Panashe, supported by their mother’s sacrifices, was able to join Tinashe at Gutu High so that she could receive an education of equal quality. Together, the twins ventured into entrepreneurial activities to help their mother make ends meet, raising chickens and growing vegetables.

Last year, the twins passed their A Levels with exceptional results.

Beyond boundaries

The twins’ aspirations stretch far beyond the confines of their homeland. Panashe and Tinashe have found a path to further their education in Poland, a dream that promises to expand their horizons and equip them with the tools to make a meaningful impact. But their journey is hindered by financial constraints, just another barrier they must overcome to bring their dreams to fruition.

• Paying the agent that assisted Panashe and Tinashe to select the university and programmes that are best suited to them, helped the twins to apply, and still provides advice and guidance to make the journey easier and more successful.
• Covering the cost of the first year of tuition for both Panashe and Tinashe. The standard procedure when the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Poland, accepts a foreign student into one of their programmes is to charge the first year of tuition upfront.
• Helping Vongaishe pay expenses like travel to and from main centres to have the twins’ qualifications authenticated and applying for Visas.
• Buying the tickets for the twins to fly to Poland.
• Covering expenses like accommodation, travel, and groceries, when the twins arrive in Poland.
