This is part of a three-book programme launched by Zazi Books showcasing South African authors who write for the 8-12-year-old age group. The Kubomntwana Author Development Programme, which supports this initiative, is partially funded by a grant from the National Arts Council (NAC).

Their excitement reaches new heights with the promise of a signed Jabulani ball as the prize. However, their dreams are threatened when the prized ball mysteriously disappears. Determined to solve the mystery, the team uses their unwavering dedication and teamwork to uncover the truth.
Kalenga Augustine Mulenga’s storytelling brings the dynamic world of youth soccer to life, weaving a narrative that combines the thrill of sports with intrigue. “I loved how real Kalenga’s characters are in this book,” says commissioning editor Sarah McGregor. “Kids will really connect with the MUTLAC team and enjoy reading about their adventure, which is what Zazi Books wants to promote – relevant, enjoyable stories for South African kids that encourage a love of reading.”
